Welcome to RUFF North End! R.U.F.F. (Responsible Urbanites For Fido) is a group of volunteer dog lovers whose mission is to work towards healthy dog living and work with the community to better neighborhood relations. RUFF promotes responsible dog ownership, dog education, and outreach within their community.

RUFF is made up of friendly, welcoming, respectful, diverse and active members. Our goals are to clean up and educate our neighborhood and provide owners with an accessible place to exercise their dogs thereby providing an area for community-building socializing.

Richmond Street Dog Run Rendering Drawings

RUFF is planning exciting improvements at the Richmond Street Dog Run. Rendering drawings, with both K-9 turf and stone ground covering options, are available to view at the link below.

Neighborhood Cleanup

Saturday, May 2nd from 10am-12am

Please join RUFF & The Friends of Defilippo Playground for a neighborhood cleanup sponsored by the City of Boston! After this extra long winter, we need your help maintaining our North End recreation spacesโ€”for the local people and dogs.

No RSVP necessary and all tools will be provided by the City.

Dog Portrait Fundraiser

Sunday, May 17th from 10am-12am

Photographer Good Doggo & Co will be taking portraits of your pups to help us fundraise for the upcoming Richmond Street Dog Run renovations! 50% of all proceeds from the event will go towards the Richmond Street project.

Portraits will be taking place in the upper small dog park.
The lower dog park will be open for playtime during the event.

No RSVP necessary.

$25 per portrait

Our PARKS

Both parks are open to the public, no membership or key access required.

 

PRINCE street

Accessible from Prince Street through the DeFilippo Playground or the intersection of Snow Hill & Hull Streets

HOURS: 6am - 9pm, 7 days a week

Park features K-9 turf, water play area, and agility courses.

Two separate sections: upper level reserved for dogs under 25lb, lower level for larger dogs

 

richmond street

Located on Richmond Street between North & Fulton Streets

HOURS: 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

Fully lit park with gravel and benches

Renovations planned to begin Spring 2026

The park is in amazing condition. It even has water fountains and they provide with poop bags for the dogs.

I also love the community.

Everyone that goes to the park takes care for their own dog, but at the same time makes sure to play with all the pups.โ€
